Entire GIM Survival Prep subforum in static html .zip

I have a .zip of static html file of all the posts from today all the way back to 2006 from the "survival prep" subforum. So in case someday GIM is unavailable you can get it here, now and save it on your computer and have access to it.
http://72.73.236.82/downloads/GIM.survivalprep.zip
It is 21Megs in size. It just contains the "text" no images or external links.
Edit: note: all pages of a thread are contained in a single .htm file.

I wanted a copy for myself and I didn't think G-khan or the founders would mind me doing this and offering it up to my fellow gimmers. If I am wrong just let me know and I'll take the download link offline.

Cheers!

Good Job. I tried to do the entire forum once to offer to everybody, but after 12 hours I over-ran all my pre-defined variables. I got discouraged and didn't want to try again. Doing subforums is definitaly ideal.

Thank you! It downloaded in less time than it took to type this.

Yeah, doing the whole forum would be huge. I simplified it just by doing a single subforum and just downloading the html from the "printable view" of the threads. Glad I could help.

Anyways, if anybody has any specific requests for other subforums let me know and I'll .zip them too. As long as the admins don't mind.

specsaregood,

Thanks a lot for this!

Since you are asking if there are any requests, how about the CS/Firearms forums as well?

TIA!!

Here you go:

Enjoy!

Edit: was CS/firearms a single forum? Or did you mean the conspiracy forum as "CS". It's no sweat off my back (computer does all the work), just let me know.

Thanks!

I was referring to the Colloidal Silver subforum. I should have been more clear.

All thanks to G-Khan for weighing in and for specs asking but for future reference scroll to the very bottom of the forum and read the very last text in the center of the page.

Yeah, I saw that, which is I why I went with the "do it and ask for forgiveness later if necessary tactic". Minor difference between just do as you like and actively downloading the content in mass and distributing; but still a difference.

Just don't accidentally extract it to your desktop.

Cleanup is...laborious.

Point taken, I just updated them so they'll extract into a subdirectory of the same name.
I guess its about time to update them though, missing 4months of posts...

I was considering cleaning up my app and putting it online as shareware. It would be able to be pointed at any vbulletin site and do the same thing. Think that would be worthwhile?

Its a great idea, I'm a member of another forum that is run by v-bulletin and it was hacked and all info was lost, 90% anyway. This will at least assure this info is not lost. Recommend it for all the sub-forums. Thanks.

Looking into it now. Gotta see how badly I messed up the program after I made those. Started adding to it and it got half-finished.
